Product Overview

Our Precision Upper Kit is built around components we personally use and trust—selected through real-world shooting, match experience, and hands-on testing. This kit is not intended to be the only answer for precision gas guns, but rather a proven option focused on consistency, compatibility, and value.

Upper Receiver

Each kit starts with a BCM cosmetic blem upper receiver. These receivers are fully in-spec and functionally identical to non-blem units, with only minor cosmetic imperfections. BCM uppers were selected for their thermal interference barrel fit, which has consistently delivered excellent accuracy in our personal builds—at a price point that allows us to pass real savings on to the customer.

Barrels

After testing barrels from multiple manufacturers, we’ve had outstanding results with Shaw HBAR and SOLGW Precision SPR stainless barrels.

Shaw HBAR barrels follow a traditional heavy profile commonly seen in precision-oriented gas guns.
SOLGW Precision SPR barrels run slightly heavier than a standard HBAR, offering increased rigidity and thermal stability.

These stainless barrels are designed for accuracy and consistency, not sustained high-heat or full-auto firing. If your application prioritizes prolonged strings of fire or duty/combat use, we recommend a chrome-lined barrel, with the understanding that some accuracy tradeoff may occur.

Handguards

Handguards were chosen based on stiffness, deflection under load, and real match use:

Geissele MK4 & MK8 – Excellent rigidity with minimal deflection when loading a bipod. The MK4 is recommended for picatinny-mounted bipods due to its integrated front rail section, eliminating a common flex point.
Geissele MK16 – Known for its use on the URG-I. Its slimmer profile results in slightly more deflection under bipod load but offers superior ergonomics for LPVO rifles that are primarily shot unsupported.
Ripcord Industries Full & Partial ARCA Rails – The stiffest handguards we’ve personally used. Heavier by design and extremely rigid, these rails require a thermal interference fit to the barrel nut and are ideal for shooters prioritizing maximum stability.

Bolt Carrier Group, Gas System & Charging Handle

Unless an upgrade is selected, this upper ships with proven, duty-grade BCM components:

BCM Bolt Carrier Group with a standard .223/5.56 bolt face
BCM low-profile gas block
Standard mil-spec charging handle

For 6mm ARC and 22 ARC, we strongly recommend the JP bolt due to improved durability and consistency in these higher-performance cartridges.
The Superlative Arms adjustable gas block is our preferred solution on nearly all builds, particularly for suppressed use. While not strictly required if you plan to tune buffer weights and springs, it offers the smoothest operating system we’ve found—and for suppressed 6mm ARC builds, we consider it close to a requirement.

Shop Assembly & Accuracy Test Option

For customers who don’t have the tools, time, or desire to assemble an upper, we offer a professional shop assembly option. This will increase lead time but includes:

Proper torque applied to all components
Alignment and QC inspection
Headspace verification
Accuracy testing with a typical match-grade load for the selected caliber
The actual test target included with your order

This option exists to save shooters time, frustration, and unnecessary expense. We’ve all purchased quality components that didn’t work well together—leading to lost points at matches and additional money spent. This kit is designed to avoid that.

Bottom line:
This Precision Upper Kit is not marketed as a magic solution or an “end-all” precision rifle. It is simply a thoughtfully selected combination of proven components, backed by hands-on experience, offered at a price point that delivers real value without cutting corners
